Caleb's felt like he was on speed, zipping throughout Matteo's body. He knew that he had asked Matteo to take him in as one of his souls, he knew that by leaving he would leave Matteo, and cause him to no longer be complete, but at the same time, he knew that Matteo would understand. He knew that he had to do things his way. He knew that when it came down to it, getting back to his brother, getting back to Callum was what meant everything right now. He felt the Doors of Death open, he felt that Callum was now in reach and that he would be able to bring him back, to bring him home. Caleb began talking to Matteo about it, running everything past him, and Matteo agreed, that the twins coming together again was what was most important and that he could just find another soul to take Caleb's place. That being said, finally, Caleb took his spot back into the real world, leaving Matteo and traveling through Fox holes until he found his way into the now wide opened Hell. He smiled softly as he stood at the gates, watching demons and the not-so-dead leave this place. He closed his eyes and let his kitsune powers take charge, ten tails, nine white and one in the center pitch black flared to life. A fox fire made of thunder appeared on each end of the tail besides the black one where a white and black foxfire shaped exactly like a yin&yang symbol appeared there. He fired each of them through the gates and they went flying, looking for his brother, looking for Callum.
Callum was sitting on throne just outside of Limbo. He had become one of the judges of Hell. Not something that he really wanted, but something that had been more so forced upon him. He had chains holding him to this place, not allowing him to leave like so many others were. He could do nothing but watch them come and go. He sighed, his eyes closed and he felt a warmth, then static, pulling him up and out of his throne, it was like he was floating, his kitsune powers flared to life, and ten tails, almost identical to his brothers other than his middle tail being white and there being ocean based foxfire living at the ends of his tails. They all fired off, seeking his brothers foxfires, and they all collided into each other, the chains on Callum shattered and he took off running, running for the doors, running for his brother. The Yin to his Yang. He smiled and jumped at him as Caleb jumped towards him, the two of them colliding midair and then laughing as they both fall backwards onto their butts. It was a reunion that neither of them had expected to happen so soon. That being said, it was one that they both needed. Caleb grabbed Callum, pulling him into a fox hole, pulling him far away from the gates as the chains were shooting out and following after him to pull him back to his throne. It was something Caleb just wouldn't allow, for his brother to be taken from him so soon after getting him back.
Once they were through the fox hole, the chains fell slack and lay, motionless and seemingly dead, no longer the snake-like beasts they were only seconds prior. They sat in their small little hut that neither of them had been in since the day that Callum was killed. This place, was a reminder of the two of them. A reminder of their parents, before their mother had turned. Before she turned into something that was no longer a mother to them. She had been the one to kill Callum. She had been the one to kill their father. The scariest part, was that if Callum was able to escape, then so could their mother. Her body may have been destroyed, but her soul was not. That meant, that again, their father would follow her and keep her off of the twins path, but would he fail to keep her at bay like he did previously? There was nothing stronger than the wrath of a mother. Not even a father trying to protect his children. Callum and Caleb both took each other's hands and they closed their eyes, their powers flaring back to life and blues and whites, blacks and grays began to circle them, and then expand outwards, circling the hut that they lived in. The entire house began shrouded in these colors, a shield of sorts to keep everyone out. They refused to lose each other again, refused to allow somebody to take them from each other once again.
After a few hours of being together now, they had both heard the voice. It had been a voice they had heard before, but it was not somebody that they knew well enough to put a name or even a face to the voice. They had looked at each other, both of them had fear in their hearts, not knowing who it was. Knowing that at any moment that it could have been their mother coming to them. At first, that was where both of their hearts and heads had gone. To a place that caused them to think it was their mother. After that, they knew, they knew that it couldn't be her. Instead, they knew that it wasn't her. So, they left their hut. They opened a fox hole to lead them to the place where the voice was coming from and when they stuck their heads out, Caleb couldn't help but laugh, coming back to the place where he had been only hours prior? This had to of been some type of sick joke. He smiled though, this place, even though it wasn't his body, but, it was still his soul being her. Because of that, he still was able to call this place home. He had found that this place had truly become his home. He was happy like this, happy being here.
Once they came out of the fox hole, they were thrown for a bit of a loop. Their internal compass was not set in stone from traveling from hell to the fox hole to now, the island. It took them a few minutes to gather themselves, but eventually they did and then they took off to towards the library. Something about it was pulling them there, pulling them into a place away from the voice. Neither of them knew what it was, but the library was where they were needed the most. That was what their minds and hearts were telling them, telling them to avoid the voice, to push it out of his head, and once they stepped through the doors of the library. The voice went silent. Almost as if it were never there. Callum looked at Caleb and frowned, and then he took a step out of the library and the voice came back. He closed his eyes and then ran. Ran for the newly built academy, pulling Caleb with him and the two of them burst through the doors of the academy, and Callum started, his voice shaky and panicked, "The Gates are opened, the scythe corrupted, the Phoenix is rising." His eyes were flared to life, and then he collapsed to the floor. Caleb couldn't help but fall to his side and hold his head from stopping it from hitting the hard ground and he sighed, closing his eyes and looking up at all of the people around them. "What the hell is he talking about and why did the voice stop once we got into the library?"
