Metanoia
Corruption spiraled the air. A world so corrupted in anger and spite only meant one thing. This was an island cursed with an unbearable sadness. A sadness that didn’t just disperse when you laid your head down for sleep at night. No, this was a sadness, an anger that toyed with with you even in the dream land. A wave of bitter cold that would shake the soul of any begin to their bones. Taking a deep breath, Elpis held the bitter cool air within her lung for several seconds before dispersing it back into the world around her. As the air escaped from her lips, it began to light up like little fireflies would. The air took the appearance of glitter as it swarmed across the island. Anyone who came in contact with air would feel a tingle of warmth, a small ring of hope...All but one. The who was meant to sense the presence would feel a calling, an invitation. Pressing her lips tightly together, Elpis shook for a few seconds in the cold before turning her attention towards a small abandoned dwelling by the cliff.
When approaching the Temple, Elpis sensed strong emotions, great memories dance across the walls of the dwelling. Destruction, anger, pain, and then there was a sensation stronger than any other, love. Slowly raising her hands, Elpis allowed small beams of light to trinkle from her palms. These beans danced within the air for several seconds before taking the appearance of small animals. These small creatures traveled the room with such grace that they seemed to barely levitate above the ground. Anywhere the animals touched seemed to instantly reconstruct the shattered furniture. The once brilliant temple seemed to pull itself back together. As the small creatures dashed across the tattered ground, the once darkened temple began to beam once more. A lining of brilliant light chased after the creatures, taking the darkness of the anger, sadness and consuming it. The creature themselves absorbed the darkness, taking the anger and sadness and turning the feelings into something of a serendipity. As the shadows spiraled from the temple into the night air outside, all the candles of the temple began flickering to life. The temple was just the beginning, the beginning to becoming alpas. Free. Kneeling down to the ground, Elpis allowed a small smile to cross her lips. Reaching her palms out, Elpis ran her fingers very gently over the lightened creatures until they dispersed into the air. As their form dispersed into light in it’s most concentrated form, it intermingled with the air across the temple. The entire room seemed to light up for several seconds until finally the burst of energy dispersed enough to chase after the sinful shadows.
Standing alone, Elpis turned her attention now towards the front of the temple. “Did you know? The light will see, the dark will speak.”
