Melanee was startled by Rion's reaction towards her, assuming he would be angry with her for being near Matteo. However he seemed to soften as he approached. She smiled nervously to him, she had simply acted on what she felt was right, thinking for herself for once and not what someone else, namely the hunters, would find acceptable. Before she could say anything they seemed to be taken by the shadows. Melanee couldn't help but chuckle to herself, the Immortals sure did like their use of shadows whether it was shadow guardians or teleportation. Maybe that's why she was so thrown off by the decor in Rion's lab, she laid back into the soft couch and ran her hands on the cloth. It felt nice to be welcome in what Melanee assumed was his private quarters, with Matteo nonetheless.
Her eyes widened at the movies that appeared before them, there had to be at least a hundred, all Disney of course. Rion's words warmed her inside, he was thankful for her presence, she couldn't recall the last time that had happened. Hunters never seemed to really enjoy a child's presence amongst all of the official business and planning that needed to be done. She enjoyed this change of pace and nodded to Rion, "Of course... and thank you, that's the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me..." Was this what it was like to have a family? She wasn't sure but she was certainly thankful for Rion's offer of protection, seeing as the way he felt towards Matteo and Lucee, his offer of protection would not be taken lightly. Glancing to Matteo, Melanee grinned and reached her finger out to run across the spins of the various DVD cases humming while she searched for a particular title, "Where's it at... Look for the... bear necessities... there it is! The Jungle Book!"
She hoped Matteo would enjoy this one, she felt like it was just what they needed, something to forget about their worries and strife as there seemed to be a lot of that lately. Melanee handed the DVD to Rion then reached to grab two cookies as she sat back on the couch making sure to give one to Matteo. She took Rion's next suggestion with utmost sincerity, he was right, things had to be fixed between her and Lucee. Lucee was her only family left despite what she felt was a growing family in the Immortals, Lucee would forever be here sister. "You have my word Mr. Rion... I will make things right with Lucee if it's the last thing I do."
