Luca was slightly thrown off by the mans response, but in all fairness he felt he deserved the blow. It made him slightly glad to see that the girl was so loved and protected she seemed innocent enough, the kind that needed protecting anyway. Although he couldn't be but a few years older than the girl, most light manipulating creatures aged much slower than their actual appearance, making the girl about 17 or 18 he guessed. Nevertheless the man seemed decent enough, despite his lack of understanding for what he called himself, a mod soul, he hadn't heard of either of their race before but he was truly intrigued. "So you're just made up of different souls... sounds painful... but then again you know what it's like to crush every bone in your entire body so I guess that makes sense..." Luca chuckled a little but found himself in deep thought over this mans description of what he was, did this man have to consume innocent souls to be... what he was? He smile faded as the girl came back to his mind, were these people that much of a good influence for this girl made of pure light? But he wasn't really much better, he knew how to manipulate the shadows although he preferred not to, the power was there...
Pulling himself back to the present conversation, Luca noticed the smaller woman enter the room and her mention of feeding strays. He realized then how hungry he was, he had been traveling for quite some time. Glancing back at a box of cereal underneath a cabinet with glass revealing various bowls, Luca nodded to the woman for approval of his snack. As he poured the bowl of corn flakes he answered Rion and presumably the woman's unspoken curiosities, "Since you were so... open," Luca chuckled again as he walked over towards the fridge, "I'm not quite sure how I... became what I am. I've just sort of grown into it.." He could see how Rion could see him as cocky, he wasn't sure why he was so full of jokes today, perhaps it was his nerves getting the best of him. "I ran into a few of your friends, used to be in the carny business but it just wasn't my forte, I think the girls names were Rowan and Claire? And there was a guy with them but I can't remember his name." Luca shrugged and went to pull out the milk when the girl they called Lucee practically pushed him to the side.
What a temper she had, Luca smirked and stepped to the side out of her way. "My apologies, Lucee? We met earlier under interesting conditions... I'm Luca." He reached his hand out to shake hers, then realized that he had yet to mention his name to the others, feeling like an idiot he blew off his nervousness with a sigh, "Im sorry, I completely forgot to tell you my name. I'm Luca, Luca Caerwyn." Looking down at Lucee, Luca gave her a warm smile not quite forgetting the burning looks from her caretakers, she had the prettiest eyes he had ever come across, behind her frustrated manor he could see her gentle nature. What was she, who she was, where did she come from... Luca needed to know more about this mysterious girl. He could tell she was curious about him too but he would never get any time with her at this rate. Looking into the girls eyes he gave her a reassuring nod and wrapped his arms around her before calling upon the shadows to teleport them to a more quiet and less judgmental room. As the shadows wrapped around the two he looked directly to Rion and then the other woman and gave them a sincere smile, "You have my word she'll be back, unharmed, in time for dinner."
