The years swarmed around her head like tiny bees humming int her ear. Everything she had done in order to protect her family had managed to destroy the mere definition of family. The truth, the motives, what did all of this mean? Throwing everything away, burning down her establishment of residence, and going as far as to create a barrier of pure taint as a place refuge. These were all some of the activities Reast found herself participating in today. This island, this land of hope, was this really where she belonged? There was nothing about Reast that screamed Promise. She promised to her family safe, she had promised to keep Lucee from changing, promise to keep everyone together...All of which had ended in nothing but failure. And even now the itch was beginning to return. It started as tension within her toes, slowly traveling up her legs and tightening around her chest. Little insects tunneling under the thin layer of flesh that coated her body. As the sensation grew more and more frequent, Reast knew it wouldn't be long till the unbearable release would call her name again.
Reast was beginning to lose herself, lose what was left of herself. While Reast had grown accustom to losing herself to the monster that lingered deep inside her, she wasn't used to losing herself to the unknown. Hours would pass, and Reast would awaken from what she could only describe as a slumber in some completely unknown territory with no recollection of how she got there. The monsters wasn't the only thing pulling at her strings like a puppet, no, there are a darker animal growing inside of her, a monster that Reast herself wasn't familiar with. While the animal was caged inside, Reast could feel is pacing deep within her mind. It was eyeing anyone who came close to her as the saliva dripped from it's lips. This animal was dangerous, this animal was angry.
