With shaky hands, each letter curled upon the plain notebook paper. The ink smeared slightly as Quinn raced against time to finish the note. Once finished, Quinn lifted the note, folding it once in half, then folding it once more. Lightly placing it upon the bed next to her beloved, Quinn could feel the tension linger under her skin. The electrical shocks sparking at each of her nerve endings, almost causing her to collapse exactly where she stood. One day she could return to him, one day she could explain her actions but not until she could control herself...Not until she could explain to him what was happening to her. Walking over to his side of the bed, Quinn leaned over and barely brushed her lips against his cheek. Turning away from him, Quinn slowly made her way into the hallway, where she shut the door behind her one last time. Carefully creeping down the stairs, Quinn allowed her eyes to take in the beautiful home around her one last time. It was wrong, how many times she attempted to disappear from Rion's life. From fighting the Gods for her freedom, to giving her chance to find true love...The Gods weren't the monsters, the monster was a woman who kept leaving her loved ones with little to no explanation. Exiting the front door of the home, Quinn evaporated into the air as she shut the door behind her.
As her body reappeared, Quinn looked around to take in her new surroundings. The tree's crowded the region around her, and the forest consumed the terrain. It seemed while the world was destroying itself, this land had still been untouched by the corruption. This was where it was. Approaching an overgrown bush by a large tree, Quinn began rustling through the leaves. Pushing the thorned branches aside, Quinn began pushing further and further into the bush. She began crawling past the bush until finally her hand slipped. Falling forwards Quinn gasped as she went into a free fall. She had found it. Quinn had found the Rabbit hole. The hole around her began swirling with colors. Chairs began floating past her, and cups of tea were pouring themselves in the air without fear of spilling. All the images, portraits, tables, chairs began flashing past her as the end of her trip was becoming clear. Putting her hands out in front of her, Quinn contemplated how she would brace the impact. But just as soon as the ground came into sight, she was already colliding with it.
Blinking her eyes slowly open, Quinn pressed her hands against the soft grass beneath her. Raising her body to finally a standing position Quinn instantly began taking in her surroundings. A world of nonsense, a world where there was no such thing as time. This was the land where the girl chased the rabbit, danced with the mad hatter, defeated the Red Queen, and then destroyed the very land she once loved. Brushed her clothing off, Quinn slowly turned in a circle to take in the surroundings that now found herself in. Then, the most interesting visual appeared as if it was a mirage. A long table completely covered in various tea cups, and dishes. Mismatched chairs surrounded the abandoned table. Taking half a step, Quinn peered at the table from a safe distance. Could it be the mad hatter?
