The Unknown
Pushing past the door of another burning house, Reast allowed her eyes to scan the area for Lucee. Where had she gone to this time? Another failed training, but this time it wasn’t just Lucee who had lost her control around the idiotic humans. As soon as the trio entered the town they had been out-skirted by the judgmental humans, as if to test their patience. Raising her hands out in front of her, the shadows that were buried over the the lands crawled into the form of dozens of human figures. No commands were needed for them to understand what needed to be done. Destroy everything. Eliminate all evidence. And make it look as though it was a tragic accident. The shadows covered the land, burning anything that wasn’t already in flames and erasing the memories of any survivors. This would help cover their tracks, but Reast knew better than believing this would be a long term solution. They had to do something...They had to return to their origins. Shadow stepping behind Luca, Reast quickly grabbed hold of him and shadow stepped again. The timing had been all too perfect, for as soon as they disappeared, a houses roof came collapsing on the area where he had been standing. Things were happening much faster than expected, but this was the exact conditions that Reast worked best in, pressure. As they re-appeared, Reasts internal radar went off, she had found Lucee. "Bingo." Reast grabbed hold of Lucee’s arm and shadow stepped in a rapid pace to remove the three of them from the village.
The shadow step got them on the outside of the village, just far enough to watch the flames from afar. This was village number three in a matter of a six day period. Village three, and a body count that Reast couldn't even keep up with. It was becoming more and more obvious that the three of them couldn’t operate among the humans, at least not yet. Which left them only one other option. Turning away from the flames, Reast brushed some of the blood from her skin as she spoke.“ We return to Promise.” She didn't bother to look up towards Lucee or Luca, let alone give them an opinion in the matter. Adjusting her arm cuffs, Reast gave them also several seconds to prepare themselves for the trials that would be coming. After adjusting her cuffs, she looked up at the two for but a second before a black hole warped from behind them. The black hole began absorbing everything around it, consuming everything from sound to light, so anything said wouldn't matter at this point. As Reast watched the black hole consume everything within it's reach, as small grin curled over her lips. As the vortex began howling for Lucee and Luca, Reasts eye darkened to one of the deepest shades of black.
Slowly closing her fist, she allowed the black hole to consume all of them whole. As they traveled through the black hole, there was this odd feeling of nothingness. A feeling of completely paralysis that overwhelmingly consumed the body and every nerve within the body. Lingering in the darkness, Reast knew in such a darkened place you'd never be able to see anything. There was nothing to see, nothing to hear, and no way to feel. In this time frame you absolutely nothing, and insignificant to the world around you. While Reast was now learning to control this new ability, it was still one of the worst feelings she could ever imagine. Rather feeling pain than nothing at all. Using the Black Hole was always risky, merely because it induced overwhelming sensations of paralysis. And in order to escape the never ending black hole you needed to be able to reopen an exit... Slowly tensing every muscle she possibly could, Reast struggled for several minutes until finally she managed to move one finger.
With that small, yet significant flick of her finger, a small light opened over their bodies. The light started small, but as the seconds passed, this little cut in the black hole grew larger and larger. As the light slowly graced their body, they began to gather feeling back. Once the hole has reached the size of a door way, the paralysis wore off. Looking back at Lucee and Luca, Reast gave a gentle nod and exited the door like exit from the black hole. This black hole ability, it was more than a new ability. This was actually a side effect of bringing other to purgatory and bringing them back. Reast hadn't died when she was supposed to now...So now her body was rejecting even the darkness. Rejecting darkness, rejecting light...taking in nothing.
As her feet made contact with the crumbling rocks on the ground, Reast knew immediately where they were. Walking over towards the ledge of the cliff side, Reast watched the growing town below. So much had happened in what was just four months on Earth. Standing at the ledge, Reast allowed the wind to just barely run through her hair. Her hair danced in air as her eyes remained focused on the town below. There was no telling what would happen now, but that was the thrill of it all. The Unknown.
