There laying across one of the structures support beams was Reast. She had been there long enough to see what was unfolding. Long enough to see what monster had decided it was her God given right to tear through the halls Reast created. Though the methods were on the same path as Re's tactics, she still found distaste in the child's deliberate opposition to Reasts demands. A mother, a daughter, a reaper in love with the mother, his death serving sister, then the rampaging monster destroying the city. A small smile slipped on Reast face as she realized what a perfect movie this could be one day. All that was missing was their glorious hero. The only problem that remained was, there was no hero coming in to save the day. There was no good citizen looking for peace within the family by saying a delicate prayer for salvation. No, that wasn't how this story was destined to end. This child wanted her attention so much, she would have it. But when she would arrive, she would arrive violently. Rising from her once peaceful spot on the beam, Reast directed her eyes on the crowd below. The puzzle that she had been waiting for was just about complete...Just a few pieces were now missing. Looking away at the crowd forming beneath the support beams, Reast now focused her eyes on the ceiling above them. With shadows surrounding her body, Reast evaporated into dark particles. Traveling through the air in such a speed, that she would be undetected until she found just the individual she had been seeking out.
The particles all pieced themselves back together in mere seconds as Reast walked up behind Luca, who had been obviously in search of her as well. Grabbing him tightly by the back of his shirt, Reast yanked on him with enough force to complete turn him around. Locking her eyes with his, Reasts face was now molded in the serious manner. "It's time." The words rolled off her tongue like daggers, but without giving him a chance to respond, the two evaporated into the air. As they traveled through the air, dashing towards their destination, Reast couldn't help but allow the flood gates of her thought drop and flood her mind. There was a creature that lingered in the air. A creature that took on the image of the shadows that surrounded all of them, but a shadow that could not be controlled by anyone, not even death himself. This shadow crawled on the wall of their mind, it hid under the bed, and clawed it long drawn out nail on their closet doors. This creature was one that you thought you could grab, but once in arms reach, it had a habit of disappearing. This was the demon that lingered in each of them. The terror that had no name, for it went by thousands of names. Some knew it by betrayal, pain, fear, sin, and most of all, guilt.
The particles met up at the end of the hall, probably several feet from where the others were gathered. Smiling softly, Reast took advantage of Lucee being distracted and cut her palm open. Looking towards the bare wall behind her, she began drawing on the wall open palmed with her darkened blood. She was quick with this task as anticipation began crawling across her skin in the form of skin peeling scars. Dropping her palm, she looked back towards the crowd gathering. As she looked back at her little Lucee, she watched in perfect timing as Lucee stuck the dagger straight through the young readers stomach. A creepish smile crawled across Reast's face as she brought her hands together several times in a loud but slow clap. The claps seemed to shatter the current chemistry room, breaking the room into an awe of silence, and confusion. Taking several, carefully planned steps forwards, Reast looked around at everyone in the room, not bothering to even give the slightest glance to Lucee. Nodding slightly, she gave an approving look to everyone around the room, everyone except the one who seemed to be craving it the most. After allowing the silence to linger in the air for several seconds, Reast looked back at Luca. "Luca, what do you do when you have no weapons?" As she asked her question, Reast began tossing the various weapons she had been carrying aside. She listened intently to him as she stripped herself of not just a few weapons, but all weapons she held. After waiting several seconds, Reast finally turned her attention to Lucee. With eyes of pure darkness, and her skin being peeled away with the black scars, Reast dropped her final dagger aside. "Who Needs a Weapon when you were Born One."
In that very instant Reast disappeared from her starting location and appeared in front of Lucee. Reaching her hands out, she didn't wait for the childs response. Much rather she grabbed every thread she could grasp with her two hands and jerked her hands backwards. For support in ripping Lucee wide open, Reast kicked her leg up and knocked Lucee away form her. The threads sounded of tear cloth as they threaded through her skin. But this wouldn't be the end, it was far from it. Releasing the threads, Reast stumbled back slightly, but she knew she could only allow herself to be distracted for so long. As she looked back at the young girl, she knew she couldn't see her as the Lucee she once wrapped her arms around and told stories to. This wasn't the same little girl she had trained, and this wasn't the same little girl she would give her life for. The young little girl who could win the hearts of everyone in the room with her mere smile had died, and unless Reast could pull herself, this monster was going to taint everything that Lucee once was. Narrowing her eyes towards the girl who took over Lucee's once holy vessel, Reast felt herself falling back into the place she had escaped from so long ago..Reast was falling back into the black.
Charging back towards the girl, Reast allowed herself to come inches away from her before evaporating into the shadows and reappearing behind her. Grabbing her by a thread lingering by her shoulder, Reast didn't hesitate completely ripping the thread from her shoulder and smashing her fist into the skin. This was done in order to separate the skin even further, making the healing time doubled. Pulling back her fist, Reast brought her leg up to smash the girl a couple steps back. Once gaining a little space between the two, Reast gave a crooked but manipulative smile to the vessel of what used to be Lucee. Using Shadow step once again, Reast appeared next to Lucee and using her bare hand she lodged her hands straight through the girls open wound located in her shoulder. While her hands went through the shoulder blade, she made sure to grab hold of any bone and muscles that blocked the path way her hit decided to take. Withdrawing her hands, she quickly spun herself around, and by instinct lodged her hand through Lucee's other shoulder. But this time she allowed her hand to linger there for several seconds, as her free hands stripped the skin around the wound. Pulling her hands back, Reast took several steps back to now gather her clouding thoughts. She couldn't lose herself, not now. The silence that fell between them as the two glared each other down was enough to shatter glass. The two monsters seemed to be sizing each other up in power and ability. This was Reast family, not by blood, but the family she fought for and found all by herself. The family she put together with one hell of fight, and by the looks of Lucee, Reast started to feel the sensation that she had failed miserably.
Dashing towards Lucee, Reast didn't bother to teleport this time. Her typical tactic was dashing towards someone as a distraction the teleporting at the last possible second, but this time things seemed to be happening in a more wreckless manner. As Reast dashed towards Lucee, she didn't slow down, much rather she smashed right into the little girl using her own body as a weapon to knock the girl backwards into Luca's arms. Once she was flung back at him, Reast gave him the signal to restrain her to the best of his ability. Walking up to her, Reast allowed her eyes to slowly fall back to their origin of color, and with that, the scars slowly began to disappear as well. Once reaching Luca and Lucee, Reast kept her eyes focused on Lucee's eyes for several more second. Looking down at the portion of Lucee's shirt that covered her stomach, Reast rolled the lower potion up slowly to exposed the scar carved into her skin. The scar read "Devils Child." It was a sick irony, but an irony that still led to a small, sympathetic smile to escape from Reast's lips. Barely shaking her head, Reast carefully reached and grabbed hold to the one thread sticking out from her abdomen. As the thread was slowly pulled, each of the letters very slowly began lighting up a bright red fluid. As she pulled the thread, Reast focused her eyes back on Lucee's, her voice now soothing. "I promised to protect you..I plan on keeping my promise." Tossing the thread aside once the final letter were lit up, Reast still remained focused on Lucee as her eyes filled with false hope. A bright orb began gathering first at Reast finger tip as she reached her hand out. With each moment, the orb seemed to double in size until it was the size of a basketball in her palm. As gentle as she could, she pressed the pure ball of energy into the scar text in Lucee's body. The once pure energy tore through Lucee like a thousand daggers now, but not only that, but the orb energy seemed to backlash, sending the dagger energy through Reast as well. Flinching in pain, Reast knew if she didn't continue pushing the energy through, it would destroy everything in the room...There was only one last option. Once the energy was completely pushed into Lucee's now shattering body, Reat wrapped her arms around her. The moment that she braced Lucee, the Seal that had been placed on the wall shattered with a blinding light, and this was the light that brought death. The particular seal on the wall was a living soul, a soul that hunted the marked... While she couldn't admit it to Lucee, Luca and Reast had this planned since she transition began.
The pain was far more then even Reast had expected when planning such an event. As much as she wished there was another way out, she knew she needed to save Lucee. And this was the only way she could truly save her Dear Lucee. Biting down on her lip, Reast felt the scream trying to build up in her throat, but she restrained herself. She had to be strong, she had to show for their finale that everything would be okay. The child she had raised as her own, one of the few individuals she allowed herself to actually trust and love. Keeping her braced in her arms, Reast refused to let the young girl she knew as her own go. As the light began destroying anyone with the sealed scar, Reast whispered softly to Lucee. "I love you Lu..Now Close your eyes little monster.." It was only seconds after her words, that the light hunted down all who bared the mark. With the careful planning put in place, those people included Lucee, Luca, and Reast. Death laid their bodies down, and finally put the monsters of Promise Island to rest.
