Alyana clicked her tongue several times after the Caligraphia finished her story. "Hunters, it sounds like. Though it makes sense that attempting to escape them would draw you here, especially now." The Immortals seemed to be returning. Aly only hoped they didn't see their ragtag group as a threat once they returned. If the island was calling to people with offers of a home, strange invitations, and magical portals, they were in for one hell of a ride. "Sorry, what were you again?" Alyana asked, turning to Mitzi. "I'm an Illusionist," she added, answering her own question first. Perhaps it would be good for the women to get to know each other; or at least their abilities. If an issue arose, it would be easier to attack or defend knowing what they were. Might as well make it a fair playing ground. Waiting for Mitzi's reply, Alyana also asked another question. "Anyone hungry? I think I saw the kitchen on my way through earlier."

Rbye had finally managed to swim over to the first land mass (no matter how petite it seemed to be) in sight. After being abandoned by her crew after a heist had gone miserably wrong, the girl had been forced to dive off a cliff into the sea that was located just by the supposed target, a summer villa. The brunette was infuriated-- betrayal was something she expected, to a certain extent, what with being in this area of work and all, but nonetheless it still stung after being stabbed in the back by her first mate just a year ago. Hauling herself up onto the beach, Rbye wrinkled her nose at the way her clothing, soaked with seawater, clung to her skin. Despite the fact that she was sopping wet, it felt like her skin was becoming dryer and dryer every moment.
The girl briefly closed her eyes and gathered a wind current all around her, circulating the air until she was dry to the bone. Still there was that uncomfortable feeling of salt clinging to her her entire body, but Rbye had become at least slightly accustomed to it after spending so much time aboard a ship. It wasn't so bad that she couldn't focus on the much more important task of figuring out where she was, so Rbye immediately set off at a brisk pace, still quite peeved that the robbery had gone so wrong.
Eventually, she came upon what seemed to be an empty town. There was a slightly hollow feeling to it, as though it had been abandoned in the past and was seeking inhabitants once more. Rbye ignored all of this and went straight to the first building in sight with the intention of pillaging it if there was anything that could be looted. She might as well try to get something out of this, after all, and if she was once again forced to swim back to the mainland, she might as well try to carry something of value on the air currents above her. Time was money, after all, and Rbye had no intention of wasting either.
After scouring a few rooms, which were very neatly organized despite being a bit dusty, the brunette threw her hands up into the air. There was basically nothing of value left in this place; she supposed that it probably truly had been abandoned, and the girl was heading towards the door she had arrived through when a faint noise caught her ears. Immediately coming to attention, Rbye snatched a nearby nightstand lamp before slinking down the hallway, padding her footsteps with air cushions so not a peep would be made. As she came closer, the sound of chit-chat could be heard, and her eyes brightened. Bursting into the room, Rbye flipped the makeshift weapon in her hands before pointing it threateningly at the first moving thing she could see.
”Your money. Now.”

Sinking more into the doorframe, Mitzi listened to the Caligraphia's story. It was organic, enough events to keep it interesting but nothing insane to lead Mitzi into believing the tale was fake (which Catherine's pooling eyes confirmed). Her eyes followed Catherine's nervous hands to her face. For a brief moment Mitzi saw herself, and knew from that Catherine would likely be her first friend on the island.
Attention turned to Aly, Mitzi responded to her questions. "I'm a Veil, um, honestly never met an Illusionist", she forced a smile not knowing if Illusionists were a threat to her.
At the mention of food, Mitzi rolled her eyes in hunger. Before she could utter a "yes" a new woman barged past her, holding some sort of object in her hand as a weapon. Confusion turned to humour as she noticed the weapon was a mere lampshade. Cocking her head to one side she raised an eyebrow. "Or what?"

Hunters... Catherine thought, her mind whirling with questions that she'd rather not ask at the moment. Instead, she kept her eyes trained on her hands, only looking up when she heard Mitzi answer Aly's question. She'd never met an Illusionist nor a Veil, hell, she barely even knew what a Veil was, but she didn't say anything - she'd rather not offend anyone.
When Aly mentioned food, Catherine's head snapped in her direction. She hadn't had a proper meal in weeks. She hoped her face didn't look too desperate, but her growling stomach gave that hope away. Before she could say anything, however, a young woman entered the room with a strange object in her hand. "God damn it," she muttered, thinking, at first, that it was someone who wanted her dead, yet again.
It wasn't. She let out a short sigh of relief before becoming rigid again. She didn't want to fight, but she didn't exactly have any money on her, either. If anything, she'd have to run. But Catherine was tired of running. She could draw herself out of the situation, but she didn't want to just leave the other two. Instead she stayed put, her eyes trained on the newcomer, her voice silent.
Peaceful naps were a favorable thing by the dragon. After living and seeing the world for over a thousand of years a peaceful life on this island, with the Immortals, was a favorable thing. Often she dealt with beautiful, vivid dreams of days she enjoyed, waking up and longing to just wake up in those situations once more.
But what happens when you wake up a dragon who just wants to enjoy her time?
Her wings twitched as her head lifted, moving to the other side of the platform she rested on. Her nest was made out of burnt material; the smell of charcoal lingering off of it. Her favorite smell.
What is all this noise going on? She had wondered as she squeezed her eyes, making a grunt. It was a pain having great hearing.
Giving up on trying to let herself sleep more, Heartless decided to zone in on the noises she heard. Voices that she never heard before. The way they sounded, it wasn't like the masculine voices or the feminine voices of the people she knew already here.
A puff of smoke was released out of her opened jaws, before her teeth clamped back together. The dragon had moved itself out of her nest and into the halls, searching for the room of where all of the noises came from.
"Here." She told herself as she entered into Mitzi's quarters, looking at all the faces of the people she never seen before.
Raising her head up high, just to show some form of superiority over these newcomers, a slight growl began rumbling in her throat. "Who are you, all of you?"
Heartless refused to show any form of introduction as she felt the need to stand her guard, just in case.
Being a dragon, she often hid away from people. With the Immortals, she felt safe. She felt as if she had a home. And she would not let anyone take that away from her. She would burn any threat, all them down to nothing but ashes.
Her eyes soon turned to Rbye, noticing the makeshift weapon. Her growl increased, her hard gaze locked onto the figure. She was trying to appear frightening as her wings moved out a bit to appear larger than she did.
"Don't worry, I'm not a nice one." Aly grinned cryptically in response to Mitzi. Of course Alyana wasn't going to attack her or Catherine, but her art was grifting and confusing others. May as well use her skills and talents. Before anyone could respond about being hungry, the next events happened quickly. "Yes, or what?" Alyana repeated Mitzi's question, moving to position herself between the new woman and Mitzi and Cat. She tilted her head and put her hand out, allowing her illusions to create a handful of golden coins atop several hundred-dollar bills. Aly then flicked the contents of her hand at the woman, and the coins morphed into large spiders, the cash stretching into snakes. That would teach someone to attempt a robbery on helpless women.
What happened next truly was surprising ~ and not much surprised Alyana. Was this woman an Illusionist, as well? That was all she could think of to explain the sudden appearance of.. a dragon. "Holy crap, did you do that?" She questioned, allowing the snakes and spiders to seemingly disperse. Putting her hands on her hips, she approached the large beast. "Wow, you are just an amazing beauty, aren't you?" When the dragon growled, however, Alyana's eyes widened, and she took several large steps back. "It's.. real." She stated simply.

“Do you two really need to ask why you should give me your money? So I don’t hurt you, of course!” chucked Rbye, her eyes gleaming. When there were people of any sort, there was treasure to be had, no matter what kind it was. Money, favors, promises... right now, Rbye really just wanted a ride back to the mainland, since she wasn’t sure if the air currents could carry her that far. The girl wasn’t particularly interested in taking an impromptu dip in the sea halfway through her journey back. There seemed to be a grand total of three people in the room, but Rbye was confident that she would be able to grab whatever loot they had and then boogey out of there. She wasn’t in the habit of sticking around, since it was one that could lead to a whole lot of trouble.
Just then, her attention was grabbed by the sudden appearance of a hulking figure-- a dragon that seemed to be snorting mad. Unfortunately for the pirate, apparently he or she wasn’t very pleased with the fact that Rbye was waving around a brass table lamp, and the girl was targeted with an almost literally burning stare. She refused to flinch, however, and simply smirked before saluting casually. “Graice, former captain of The Golden Falcon. What’s it to you, Miss Fire-Breath? I’ve heard dragons like to hoard a bunch of treasure... gold and silver, all manner of nice loot. Could you direct me to your lair, by any chance?”
Perhaps normally the brunette wouldn’t have been so sarcastic or cynical, but she still remained quite a bit bitter about being abandoned on that job. It brought back too many memories of her old crew. With a small smile, Rbye dropped the lamp nonchalantly. “You sure you wanna go making sparks in this old place? Things could... burn down, you know, mate. Although a dragon... geez, I never thought I’d meet one in my life. What kinda island is this, with all these people loitering about and a dragon guarding the place. Something ain’t right, that’s for sure.” Rbye scanned the room again. The large creature was blocking the entrance and seemed to be rather upset for some reason or another-- she wouldn’t like to exit that way if it turned out that the girl had to flee. Most of the others didn’t seem too bad, but that immediately set her on guard.
Upon seeing the great pile of gold that one of the strangers had conjured up, Rbye immediately began to feel much better about the day. Unfortunately, it was all dashed on the rocks, so to speak, when the beautiful sight morphed into a collection of creepy-crawlies from a Hallow's Eve party store. “Well, that's not very charitable of you, is it?,” Rbye murmured with a fake frown. Simultaneously, she directed them away from her with a small sweep of her hand, using a small burst of wind to blow them distinctly away from her face but letting it die out immediately, since the little creatures vanished. "And the dragon has nothing to do with me."

Before she has time to take a defensive stance with Aly and Catherine, another being entered the room. Mitzi backed up, not in a cowardly way but in a shocked way. Too much was happening. It wasn't a person who entered the room. It was a beast. Smoke pooled out of it's mouth, a dragon. Mitzi has never seen one before, and in fact it was the one myth she didn't believe. She stared in awe, until turning back to the more immediate threat.
The woman introduced herself as a captain, and her literacy confirmed her as a thief of the seas. A modern day pirate.
Mitzi put her hands together as if she was about to curtsy, and said nothing.

So much was happening at once that Catherine could barely keep up. From the newcomer to the exploding money, the girl didn't know where to look. However, everything seemed to stop for a moment as the dragon walked into the room. Cat held her breath, thinking she was about to be destroyed, but it didn't seem to be paying much attention to her. Then, she had an idea.
Catherine stuck her hand into her pocket and pulled out her marker before kneeling to the ground, touching the tip of the writing utensil to the floor. Since the dragon just woke up, she figured it might be a little...hungry. So, Cat decided to draw it a snack. She wasn't sure if it would work - she hasn't tried it before - but she thought to try it anyway.
When she finished drawing the snack, which ended up being a fish, (what the hell to dragons eat anyway?), Catherine held it up as a peace offering as she stepped closer to the dragon. "We mean no harm," she said calmly, then took a wary look at the Pirate. "...at least, most of us don't, anyway." She stood in front of the dragon, a small smile on her face, trying not to show any fear. Whether or not it was working, she couldn't tell.
This felt a bit ridiculous, to Heartless, with how each on of them reacted.
Oh right. Dragons were supposed to be a myth, or some type of fairy tale in medieval eras to tell small children. Either way, it bothered her. That the fact her existance was just something people saw as a lie.
But here she was, in the flesh and scales, a living and breathing dragon in front of them.
"The only thing I hoard here are books of knowledge. You truly know nothing of dragons." The large beast said. Her English was said perfectly too. Maybe a bit rough sounding.
"And you're not going to be able to take anything else from here." Heartless added in. "I'm not gonna let you."
Maybe she'll snatch up Rbye, throw her into the dungeon and call it a day. Later on tell the others. She did seem more threatening than the others here, so why not?
Turning her head to Cat, she looked at the creation she made. Sniffing it, she quickly snatched it up into her jaws. It was a bit close to her hands, and if Heartless wasn't careful, she could have accidentally bit Cat's hands too.
"Some of you may not be threats, but one of you are."
Aly leaned against the far wall of the room, her eyes still wide and never leaving the newest addition to the room. A dragon. A Dragon? Alyana was able to create nearly anything from thin air, yet this massive beast in front of her now was an unbelievable sight. It eats fish.. Probably eats us, too.. "Charitable?" Aly repeated the word, now turning her frustration on the pirate. "You were trying to rob us!" She threw her hands in the air, attempting to signify how absurd the woman sounded. "I could have done a lot worse than simply illusion-ing those spiders and snakes, too!" Alyana ended in a shout, then frowned. She gathered herself up for a moment, then let herself sit criss-cross apple sauce on the floor. "Who exactly are you, Miss Dragon?" Aly questioned sarcastically.

"'Course I don't know anything about dragons. Not like I've met a whole crew of 'em before or anything. And anyways, old books are worth just as much, you know-- no need to go judging me and thinking that I don't go for anything besides straight up money or materials. Any pirate worth her salt can find a place to sell anything... or it goes off the side of the ship down into the abyss," she finished with a grin. The dragon had implied something about putting a stop to Rbye's attempts to rob the group, but the brunette was completely ignoring anything that didn't particularly suit her interests at the moment. In fact, she was having quite a lot of fun just chit-chatting with the bunch of strangers, despite the fact that her main interest still lay with anything valuable she could obtain.
Rbye burst out into laughter as the dragon sniffed the fish and then snapped it up. The creature had a somewhat distinct human-like quality that amused the girl to no end, but she swiftly sobered up as the dragon directed another somewhat implicative statement towards her. Just a little hit later, the brunette winced as the conjurist seemed to explode with irritation; something that the pirate found hilarious. Coughing to conceal her laughter, "Hey, relax," was Rbye's only reply to the two of them.
"A girl's gotta make a living somehow. I was in the middle of something when a small hiccup ended up with me on this island. I figured that it was abandoned, but I'll be honest and tell you that I ain't really feeling it right now. Even I know that messing with supernaturals never has a nice outcome." After getting that out of the way, the girl seemingly forgot that just moments ago she had been threatening the entire group with a table lamp. Rbye plopped down next to the tricky one and mimicked her, tucking her legs together in a pretzel; she was interested in hearing the dragon's story, if she could.

Silence. That was the best option for Catherine. If she was quiet, maybe she was less likely to be noticed. She couldn't just draw her way out of every problem she had, that wasn't exactly practical. She was terrified, of course, but she had to figure out a way to keep calm, otherwise things could go south. So, instead of freaking out, Cat decided to let her thoughts wander elsewhere. For example, what would've happened if she was a normal child, if she wasn't what she was? Surely her adoptive parents wouldn't have left her then, hell she might not even have adoptive parents. She'd just be...normal.
Sighing, Catherine took a seat on the floor as well, crossing her legs under her. There were so many things going on at once. A possessive dragon that might eat her, a thief, and two people she had just met...and they were all like her. Well, not exactly - they weren't Caligraphia's, but they were still...supernatural. A lot of things were going to change in her life, Cat realized. She knew now that she was not alone.

In the far back, Mitzi glazed the situation. New faces, a new home, new creatures. The dragon seemed irritated, there was a thief, and two strangers. Mitzi felt no fear but no comfort.
As Rbye sat down next to the trickester she stiffened. Was the thief trying to get on friendly terms? Were we going to forget she tried to rob us?
Alyana frowned, standing once again. She wasn't going to deal with this. Dragons, Pirates, crazy people? No, no, and no. She'd rather continue exploration of the underground system. And the loud music she'd heard for a while, then had stopped, was quite intriguing to her. Perhaps some Immortals had returned. And here they were, trapped in this room by a dragon. That was less than ideal, wasn't it? Taking a risk, Aly ducked under the dragon, and headed out into the hall. She wasn't a threat, and there was hardly reason for anyone to think of her as one.
